The Opportunity:

As the Director, FP&A, you will be responsible for leading the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial analytics function at Vivid Seats (NASDAQ: SEAT). This role provides financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision making and drive business performance. The successful candidate is a thoughtful leader who is energized by working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. This is a hybrid role (3 days in-office in the Chicago Loop) reporting to the VP, FP&A.

How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats:

Develop and oversee the financial planning processes, including annual budgeting, ongoing forecasting throughout the year and long-term financial plans. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to support business decisions and drive company growth. Analyze and interpret financial and business results to provide insightful variance and trend analysis, as well as identify risks and opportunities. Prepare reporting and presentations that are used by senior management and the board of directors. Partner with Accounting, External Reporting and the Investor Relations functions to provide reporting and analysis to support investor and public reporting needs. Lead the continual improvement of budgeting, forecasting and reporting across the company, including management of forecasting and reporting tools, processes and systems. Lead and develop a team of FP&A professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to foster a high-performance culture. Provide strategic leadership for the FP&A function, setting overall goals and priorities and ensuring the team's alignment to organizational objectives.

How your role expectations will progress as the Director, FP&A in the first 30, 90, and 180 days:

30 days in

Complete new hire orientation, gaining the resources you need to be successful. Learn how ticket marketplaces operate and how you'll contribute to providing great experiences for our customers. Acclimate to team and company norms, business objectives, and Vivid Seats values. Meet with various functional leaders across the company to begin developing relationships. Evaluate and understand our existing FP&A processes, responsibilities, and timelines. Gain a deep understanding of the systems and tools used by the FP&A team. You are observing and asking questions, but also doing the tasks necessary to complete your first monthly close process to ensure reporting and analyses are completed and communicated.

90 days in

Own and drive the monthly reporting and analysis process including providing the senior leadership team with insightful analysis. Understand and take part in the quarter-end process, ensuring accurate data is provided to external reporting and investor relations. Create an improved framework for analyzing new deals across a range of complexities. Have established team norms and re-allocated work as needed. Understand the main drivers of financial performance, key inputs and data sources and areas which require extra attention.

180 days in

Are refining our FP&A calendar and processes and acting as a strategic owner of the function driving value to the rest of the company. Are proactive and comfortable flagging areas of concern as well as opportunities. Have developed partnerships with stakeholders across the organization. Have successfully led a forecast/budget cycle, ensuring a smooth process, effective communication, high level of accuracy and thorough variance analysis. Have considered areas of opportunity for future cycles.

What You'll Bring:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or other relevant fields; M.B.A. degree a plus. 10+ years in FP&A or equivalent function with at least three years in a leadership role. Extensive financial modeling and analysis experience and a deep understanding of key accounting principles. Strong knowledge of various financial reporting systems and data analysis tools. Effective communication skills are necessary to present financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders. You are no afraid to ask questions and seek input; high standards for accuracy and precision. The ability to build collaborative partnerships with functional leaders and with the rest of the finance team. Highly detail oriented with an aptitude for learning on the job quickly. Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic industry; this is a do-er + leader role so you must be willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. Strong leadership skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration. Experience working at a public company is a plus.
