JOB SUMMARY
As a pivotal member of the Advanced Group CFO Partners leadership team, the Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will play a critical role in guiding the financial planning & analysis activities across the organization. This role is designed to bridge the gap between the strategic oversight of the VP and the operational execution led by the Associate Director. The Senior Director will lead the development and implementation of advanced financial models and analytics, providing insights that will drive business decisions and strategic initiatives. This role will involve significant collaboration with executive leadership and business unit leaders, ensuring that financial insights and recommendations align with the company's goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Oversight:
- Lead the Financial Planning & Analysis team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and strategic priorities.
- Provide direction and mentorship to a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial reports and presentations for the executive leadership team and Board of Advisors.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement advanced financial models to support strategic decision-making, including scenario analysis and financial projections.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with long-term strategic goals.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop reporting tools that provide actionable insights.
- Analyze financial trends and industry data to identify opportunities and risks, providing strategic recommendations to leadership.
Strategic Initiatives and M&A:
- Lead financial analysis and due diligence efforts for mergers and acquisitions, supporting the identification of key risks and opportunities.
- Partner with the CFO and Executive Leadership Team in strategic planning initiatives, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and organizational strategy.
- Assist in the development of integration plans for acquired businesses, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with financial goals.
Capital Markets:
- Collaborate with the CFO and executive leadership to develop and execute the company's capital markets strategy, aligning financial resources with business objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend capital raising strategies, to support growth and operational needs.
- Monitor capital markets trends and economic indicators to identify opportunities for optimization of the company's capital structure.
- Oversee capital raise activities, ensuring effective communication of the company's financial performance and strategy to bank partners.
- Lead the preparation of materials for all debt covenants, borrowing base calculations, financial statement presentation, and other capital markets-related communications.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment of financial goals and objectives.
- Communicate financial insights and recommendations effectively to various audiences, tailoring presentations to meet the needs of different stakeholders.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to business units, helping to align financial strategies with business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Education:
- 10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a strong track record of success in a leadership role.
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline required; MBA or other advanced degrees preferred.
- Proven experience in the Clinical Research, Professional Services, Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, or Staffing industries is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
- Expertise in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Familiarity with financial systems and tools, including NetSuite, Adaptive, and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, change management focused environment, with the flexibility to switch priorities and manage multiple projects at once.
