Description:

  • Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
  • Preparing financial analyses and reports.
  • Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditures.
  • Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
  • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
  • Train and supervise junior accountants to comply with company procedures.
  • Preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns.
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Partner with project DELTEK Consultant to ensure efficient implementation company wide
  • Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned
  • Work with the ownership group to streamline accounting processes to reduce work paper and document requirements.
  • Performed month-end/year-end close, financial statement preparation and budget variances. Assisted management in resolving variances.
  • Internally prepare all the data, month-end year end, loans, and bank reconciliations, up to where the return would be completed.
  • The company does not have an HR Team so the financial duties fall into this person's plate.
  • Payroll 50 employees (in DELTEK) Primarily reporting and 940's and 941s payroll returns, unemployment insurance, oversees the insurance renewals, prequalification process (process only involves communicating with outside vendors 1-2 times a year).
  • Manage Junior Accountant and current intern.
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
  • Partner with the ownership group to analyze data, forecast projects, implement budget changes, updates and overall collaborate to ensure company finances are in line.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or similar; Bachelor's Degree in accounting preferred.
  • DELTEK Accounting ERP experience required.
  • Experience in the engineering, construction, development, or similar industry preferred.
  • Project accounting experience preferred.
  • Proven tenure in a fully cycle technical accounting role.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
