Job Title: Sales Manager for Western Business Development

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Department: Sales

Reports To: Regional Accounts Manager-Independents

Position Summary:

We are in search of a dynamic and high-performing Sales Manager to lead business development activities for MacKenzie-Childs' brand portfolio in the central and western regions. The ideal candidate should be a proactive individual focusing on achieving sales targets through effective communication, persistence, and follow-through. Building and nurturing relationships with retailers to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty is a critical aspect of this role. Analyzing customer data to identify growth opportunities, implementing sales strategies, and maintaining a strong brand presence are key responsibilities that contribute to driving profitable sales growth and overall brand success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional tasks may be assigned)

  • Expand current account base within the assigned territory by identifying areas of growth and cultivating strong relationships to meet ambitious goals
  • Research and pinpoint target areas and potential accounts within the territory to penetrate underserved regions, qualifying new sales opportunities while upholding brand standards
  • Ensure consistent follow-up with prospective accounts, from initial contact to business expansion, and enforce brand standards throughout
  • Create effective go-to-market strategies in collaboration with the sales team, representing the company with a comprehensive understanding of offerings at various events
  • Develop and manage sales programs and promotions to support channel growth, including collaboration with other departments and coordination of new product launches
  • Engage retailers with the brand's expectations, incorporating storytelling, marketing excellence, and adherence to brand standards
  • Formulate and execute a strategic business plan annually for the assigned territory, focusing on opening new target accounts and monitoring progress against targets
  • Collaborate with the Regional Accounts Manager to track sales performance, analyze results, and present progress to the Executive Team
  • Handle all aspects of customer relations to ensure strong partnerships with retail accounts, including prompt responses, order management, and collaborations with internal teams
  • Maintain adherence to budget guidelines and contribute to company profitability goals with smart investments and expense management

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role does not involve any supervisory duties.

Education and Experience:

  • Prior experience as a Territory or Regional Sales Manager for 3-5 years
  • BS in Sales, Business Administration, or a related field

Special Requirements:

  • Experience in account management
  • Proficiency with CRM software
  • Knowledge of sales performance metrics
  • Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
  • Customer-centric approach with robust negotiation skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, attending key events and corporate meetings
  • Analytical thinker with expertise in Microsoft Excel applications
  • Occasional weekend work may be required based on business needs

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines efficiently
  • Keen attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
  • Understanding of P&L and proficiency in sales analysis
  • Consistent and reliable attendance

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to perform various physical tasks and exert moderate force
  • Mental agility and visual acuity for decision-making in limited scenarios, coordinating with team members
