Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement standard policies, procedures processes and best practices across the company to promote compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations
  • Conduct state-specific legal research and monitor changes in requirements to mitigate risks and achieve compliance
  • Support the collection of data for regulatory filings, coordinate and develop reports, projects and use assessment tools to verify compliance
  • Participate in internal compliance audits
  • Develop compliance communications and drive problem resolution for a business segment across UnitedHealth Group
  • The skill that you will most need here is building relationships
  • You will be working with state regulators and it's critical that you are able to establish trust and communicate with them freely
  • You will be responsible for preparing and participating in compliance audits and will be expected to help handle complaints and grievances, and look for root causes (and solutions)

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working in government, legal, health care, managed care and/or health insurance
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll
  • Experience communicating complex information via phone conversations and emails to non-technical clients, external customers, internal customers and executives
  • Experience working independently and researching regulations
  • Intermediate or better proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience working in government, legal, health care, managed care and/or health insurance
  • 4+ years of experience in Payroll
  • 1 + year of experience with Service Contract Act
  • 1+ year of experience with Power BI
  • Experience with Deltek, SQL, and Macros

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
