What will you be doing?

The Business Analyst will collaborate with users to understand their needs and help design requirements, document processes to improve company workflow, productivity, efficiency, effectiveness, and managing the product backlog and prioritizing the tasks based on shifting goals in order to deliver exceptional experiences and outcomes. This individual will also be expected to maintain knowledge of the business systems and assist in day-to-day operations and technical needs of the broader organization. The ideal candidate will be open to working with the energy to execute high-level to lower-level tasks, as needed, and be self-motivated.

Area(s) of Responsibility

  • Based on business requirements, participate in the technical design, testing and training of enhancements for Velocity's ERP system.

Essential Functions

  • Gain a deep understanding of business processes and business requirements of the
    organization
  • Facilitate and clarify business requirements and functional design for new or modified applications using IT standard requirement documents, business process flows, and process descriptions
  • Maintain detailed and extensive project documentation from inception to post-release stages
  • Collaborate to develop test cases and training plans
  • Assist and conduct user acceptance testing
  • Work with the business groups to ensure enhancement adoption
  • Manage product backlog and prioritization
  • Understand business needs and assist in recommending future enhancements
  • Be proactive in a small, fast-paced environment

Education, Experience and Knowledge

Education:

  • 4-year degree in Business or Information Technology related field

Experience:

  • 4+ years of business analysis experience, business process modeling
    and/or QA testing experience
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Solid understanding of software development cycles.
  • Training staff on systems usage
  • Experience with ERP or CRM systems

  • Basic understanding of SQL and ability to write simple queries
  • Ability to map business processes, diagrams, data flows, and gather and use business intelligence
