Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing partners business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice, working closely with global systems integrator consulting companies. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, and AWS CloudFront) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers.

In your role you will work with a limited number of high-value enterprises, and lead their technology strategy across a broader team of cross functional resources with a global partner and our customers. You will work collaboratively with account managers, owning the technical strategy and execution of an account, as well as the corresponding executive relationships (e.g. CTO, CIO, Chief Architect, Enterprise Architects, etc.).

As a Solutions Architect on our team, you will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to the partners market on cloud native applications working with a world class sales and business development team. You will lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community. You will gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture.

Key job responsibilities

Engaging with executive and technical stakeholders within our customers to design AWS-based solutions to business problems. Owning the technical domain and strategy for your partner and the corresponding executive relationships. Understand and be able to explain key aspects of AWS services and how they fit into an overall technical architecture including transitional approaches to move to the most effective architectures. Guide customers on deploying infrastructure and applications in a secure, resilient, and scalable way. Coach and mentor junior SAs. Ability to travel 30%.

About the team

The Systems Integrator Partners SA (SI-PSA) team supports the WWPS SI Partners Sales team. We support the field sales team, primarily through earning trust with the partner and being their primary contact for development of partner solutions, enabling partner decision makers, architects, and delivery teams, and providing guidance related to AWS services and solutions. The SA will focus on leveraging the broader AWS ecosystem to optimize our partner's AWS cloud journey.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 6+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  • Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market.
