Role Summary:

Increase business by supporting assigned targeted customers with technical and commercial information. Answer technical questions regarding control valves, material recommendations, pneumatic systems, digital products. Answer commercial questions regarding terms of contracts, lead times, and documentation requirements. As a Senior Sales Engineer the expectation would be to provide higher level guidance, support and instruction to staff level AE's and Sales Engineers. Travel required to develop business by making presentations and training.

Responsibilities:

  • Timely response to customers' inquiries with a high sense of urgency based on Quick Response Center mentality.
  • Review all valve orders for completeness and correctness.
  • Develop customer relationships and create customer value through increased interaction, technical support, and training/follow-up on customer needs.
  • Correctly apply applicable industry standards.
  • Help to prepare professional and persuasive quotations to win orders.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Synergistic work in a team environment.
  • Proper application of technical knowledge of control valves, noise, cavitation, pneumatics, and materials.
  • Correctly identify and apply QA procedures to meet customer requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university (Mechanical or Industrial Distribution Engineering degree preferred); or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Use Performance, ORACLE, and Microsoft Word and Excel in a productive manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with difficult people.
  • Technical knowledge of fluids, corrosion, erosion, materials, valve specifications, engineering drawings.
  • Time management skills are essential as work load is high.
  • Organization of projects, files, workload and documentation of quotes and training.
  • Prioritization of workload.
  • Must be able to teach and coach representatives on the principles of Control Valves.
  • Know how to build valves and calibrate positioners.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of the production process from order entry to shipment.
  • Basic knowledge of commercial issues including payment terms, shipping terms, and contract review.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Foreign language skills are desirable.
  • Computer skills for internet, Performance sizing software, Microsoft Office.
