The Administrative Support Assistant will function within the Community Outpatient Services Responsibilities Receives and screens the vast majority of callers and visitors to the Office of the Facility Director, who include Veterans and/or their family members, Veteran Service Organizations (VSO), officials of other federal, state and local agencies, Vendors, Medical Center personnel and general public.

You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:Screening phone calls to determine the nature and referring to appropriate staff; solving complaints, presenting and gathering information; monitoring and analyzing administrative reports; providing administrative support to daily operations; scheduling and running reports; assisting management with all aspects of scheduling; reviewing documents for accuracy of grammar and punctuation; knowledge of VA rules and policies.

Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
