Howmet Engines Systems is looking for an HR Business Partner to join our Hampton, Virginia team.

The HR Business Partner will provide consultation and services to our Structural Castings team on a variety of complex Human Resource issues. In this role, you will actively work with business leaders to develop and implement Human Resource solutions to strategic business challenges and proactively addresses major employee relations issues to foster a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities include:
Partner with the Plant Managers and Staff to deliver HR solutions that meet business needs.Advises Managers, Supervisors and leads of policies and procedures, various state and federal regulations, salary-related issues and effective human resources practices related to employee relations situations.Provide counsel in all areas of Human Resources, employment, employee policies and procedures, employee records, leave of absences, benefits, compensation, and employee relations.Responsible for all aspects of internal and external recruitment and selection processes for NES and Exempt level positions. Posts all positions on the applicant tracking system (Oracle), coordinates interview schedules and candidate travel arrangements, tracks applicant flow, and coordinates administration of various pre-placement screening processes. Completes all new hire documents and data input. Partner with HR team to achieve production hiring goals.Partner with HR team to facilitate new hire orientation training.Oversee HRIS administration.

Process employee status changes such as promotions, salary adjustments, new hires, and terminations. Tracks and prepares reports on employee status changes for the month, quarter, and year.Foster a positive labor relations environment, including team building and effective communications.Establish trust with members of union leadership.Advise management in appropriate resolution of labor relations issues.Handles employee relations issues and provides feedback to employees and the leadership team.Initiates and coordinates various activities designed to promote and maintain a high level of employee morale. Responsible for employee retention programs and other actions to control employee turnover.Conduct internal employee relations investigations.Lead Workforce Planning initiatives including succession planning, talent management and training/development.Lead Performance Management and Compensation Planning effortsBe a change agent and encourage continuous improvement activities.Ensure compliance with applicable employment and labor laws.Ensure compliance with various leave of absence laws and regulations.Ensure compliance with Howmet Aerospace policies and procedures.Partner with HR team to maintains self-audit (ASAT) responsibilities/assignments to achieve minimum of "Good' rating.Partner with HR team to facilitate Howmet Foundation grant making and community development needs.Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.Maintains full compliance and conducts all activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.Performs other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institutionA minimum of 7 years' experience in a Human Resources role A minimum of 2 years' experience in a HR leadership positionA minimum of 2 years' experience within a manufacturing environmentA minimum of 2 years' experience working in a unionized company

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in Human Resources from an accredited institutionPHR / SPHR certificationGood knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)Experience working in a large, global organization.
