The College of Health Sciences
The College of Health Sciences prepares the next generation of health and human service professionals to improve quality of life and address health disparities in their communities. The College offers five undergraduate degrees in Clinical Lab Science, Health Promotion, Rehabilitation Sciences, Social Work and Kinesiology. There are six master's degrees in the college: Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy (transitioning to OTD by 2022), Public Health, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, and Kinesiology. There are currently two doctoral programs in the CHS: Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences. High impact educational experiences enable students to develop leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, as well as a strong sense of social responsibility through community and global engagement opportunities.
Faculty and students engage in teaching, research, and service, incorporating Boyer's Model of the scholarship of discovery, integration, application/engagement, and teaching and learning, all related to the applied health sciences ). The College's facilities and programs are designed to promote interprofessional teaching, learning, research and community & global engagement initiatives. The College of Health Sciences enjoys a strong and collaborative relationship with a range of local, national and global community partners. Graduate and undergraduate students participate actively with faculty clinical and research mentors in conducting a variety of projects relevant to addressing health inequities and improving quality of life in the Paso del Norte region and beyond.
Job Description:
The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications and nominations for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor in Speech-Language Pathology. UTEP is seeking a driven and innovative individual to join the Speech-Language Pathology program, emphasizing multiculturalism/multilingualism, interprofessional practice, and clinical competence across the domains of speech-language pathology. Responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate teaching, on-campus and off-campus clinical supervision, student advising, participation in student research projects, professional and scholarly activities, service to the university and community, and accreditation duties. This is a 9-month faculty appointment.

Required Qualifications
Earned master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences & Disorders, Speech/Hearing Science, or related fieldCredentialed and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with eligibility in Texas and minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of Audiology/Speech-Language PathologyPreferred QualificationsInterest in, or actively engaged in the pursuit of a research doctoral degree (PhD)Experience in clinical supervision at the graduate, and post graduate level (CFY)Specialty emphasis in an area in speech-language pathology Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and record of research, teaching, and service.
