Position Overview:

We seek a skilled Senior Manager of Software Engineering to join our SoFi Invest Engineering team. SoFi Invest represents SoFi's investment platform, encompassing a leading robo-advisor and online brokerage services for stock, ETF, Mutual Funds, and Alts trading.

As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in various aspects - deploying features, designing our systems, debugging, maintaining our codebase's health, and progressing as a leader in engineering. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking and practical, possess a strong sense of ownership and commitment to delivery, and excel as a mentor and team player. At SoFi, we emphasize collaboration across Product, Design, and Engineering, meaning you will contribute to the entire product lifecycle, from inception to deployment, and ongoing enhancements and advancements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic leadership in planning and executing SoFi Invest initiatives.
  • Guiding and coaching a team of software engineers.
  • Promoting innovation, collaboration, and continuous enhancement within cloud infrastructure teams.
  • Driving the creation and implementation of scalable, secure, high-performance software systems.
  • Setting and communicating team goals, performance targets, and providing consistent feedback and guidance.
  • Identifying team skill gaps and organizing training programs for improved technical capabilities.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables, creating project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Effective resource allocation, managing project priorities, and resolving conflicts for streamlined project execution.
  • Monitoring and reporting project progress, risk identification, and implementing strategies for successful project outcomes.
  • Close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment and cooperation throughout the software development process.
  • Fostering strong relationships with cross-functional teams, encouraging efficient communication, coordination, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborating with senior leaders to develop strategies for operational excellence and enhanced software development practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Over 6 years of experience as a Software Development Manager or similar technical leadership role.
  • Demonstrated track record in managing and leading software development teams and successfully delivering complex projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, inspiring and motivating team members towards high performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
