Major Function

Transport mobile equipment to all locations withing the Company as directed by the Transport supervisor. Train equipment operators in the safe and efficient operation of heavy equip­ment and machinery.

Typical Duties
  • Drive and/or operate mobile equipment over 10,000 pounds GVW or larger and occasionally lighter vehicles.
  • Participates in loading and unloading manually, using booms and forklifts.
  • Inspects tractor/trailer for defects in accordance with FMCSA and Company regulations and policies.
  • Maintains electric logs and inspections as required by the FMCSA and the Company.
  • Instruct and train equipment operators in the proper use and mainte­nance of new and existing heavy equipment and conduct formal classes for new equipment operators.
  • As required, schedule major repairs and maintenance of equipment with the Transport department.
  • The typical duties described herein represent a major portion of the job. Other similar duties may be assigned. When management deter­mines that it is efficient to do so, employees in this classifica­tion may be assigned duties of less complexity.
Qualifications
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Must have upon hire a Class A CDL, with air brake, manual transmission, tanker and double/triple trailer endorsements, at a minimum. (Position requires travel around 25% travel if not more)
