Key ResponsibilitiesThe Heavy Equipment Operator Trainer will be responsible for transporting mobile machinery to various locations as directed. This role involves training operators on the safe and effective use of heavy equipment and machinery.
Primary Duties- Operate and/or drive mobile equipment exceeding 10,000 pounds GVW, as well as lighter vehicles when necessary.
- Assist in the manual loading and unloading of equipment, utilizing booms and forklifts.
- Conduct inspections of tractor/trailer units for compliance with FMCSA and company standards.
- Maintain logs and records of inspections as mandated by FMCSA and company policies.
- Provide instruction and training to equipment operators on the proper operation and maintenance of both new and existing heavy machinery, including conducting formal training sessions.
- Coordinate major repairs and maintenance of equipment with the Transport department as needed.
- Additional duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate by management, including tasks of lesser complexity when necessary.
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- A valid Class A CDL with air brake, manual transmission, tanker, and double/triple trailer endorsements is mandatory upon hire. This position may require travel up to 25% of the time.
