As a Rigger - Machinery Mover, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the rigging and moving operations, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment throughout the process. You will work closely with other team members to execute complex lifting and maneuvering tasks, requiring precision and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:- Provide clear and concise instructions to workers involved in hoisting and moving loads, prioritizing safety protocols at all times.
- Conduct thorough inspections of rigging equipment to guarantee its integrity and reliability before each operation.
- Securely attach loads to rigging systems using appropriate hand and power tools, ensuring proper weight distribution and stability.
- Select the optimal rigging gear, including cables, pulleys, and winches, based on load specifications, work environment, and project timelines.
- Expertly maneuver heavy equipment through confined spaces or narrow openings, utilizing specialized equipment such as chainfalls, gin poles, and gallows frames.
- Employ multi-point suspension techniques to precisely tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads, enabling safe navigation around obstacles.
- Align, level, and anchor machinery with accuracy, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
- Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to effectively move or support materials such as heavy equipment.
- Install pulleys and blocks onto fixed overhead structures like beams and ceilings using bolts and clamps.
- Disassemble and store rigging equipment after use, maintaining a well-organized and safe work area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of proven experience as a Rigger or in a similar role within the manufacturing or construction industries.
- A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for working with machinery.
- Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to providing exceptional support.
