This is a unique opportunity for a quality assurance professional to work on an "unannounced game" at Blizzard. Here you will analyze the quality of the development process and lead with a mindset of continuous improvement for the team. As a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of various test methodologies, you aim to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways. You will participate in product development meetings and planning activities. You will partner daily with stakeholders to collaboratively identify and meet product quality objectives using a strategic selection of test methods and approaches. You will have opportunities to train and mentor fellow QA members.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced testing methods to deliver test design, test execution, test analysis, and test closure strategies
• Analyze & monitor the software development processes used to ensure quality
• Ensure requirements met and risks are continuously managed throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Enhance live operations and product deployment stability, across both development and production environments
• Research, recommend and adopt tools as needed with the goal of increasing test coverage that reduces manual effort
• Establish new measures and Key Performance Indicators to validate and report on software quality
• Support others as they develop appropriate knowledge and skills through training, constructive feedback, and mentorship
• Utilize established development toolsets to design and implement custom test scenarios
• Publicly represent Blizzard in global conventions and quality assurance activities such as live operations on social media
• Utilize Scripting to assist with execution of testing or QA processes (create / modify scripted test cases)
• Responsible for monitoring department Service Level Agreements (SLAs) Other objectives as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years' experience in software testing
• Be an expert in one or more software testing methodologies
• Practical knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, & SQLServer
• ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level (CTAL) or equivalent
• Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and action on data sets and complex workflows
• Experience with game engines, content and asset editors, Java, and or similar shared technologies
• Passion for games and software quality

Pluses

• Bachelor's Degree in related field
• Open box testing experience
• ISTQB Certified Tester Expert Level (CTEL) or equivalent
• Experience in writing, executing and monitoring test suites using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, Cucumber, Concordion, Selenium, Fit/FitNesse, SoapUI, Unity, Unreal, as well as other proprietary game development toolsets
• Coding knowledge: XML/HTML, JavaScript, Python, Java, C/C++/C#, or SQL
• High-level of gaming knowledge and/or skill
• Passion for Blizzard's line of products and services
• Experience shipping/supporting a AAA game
• Experience with game development phases from concept/incubation to release

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $ $35.58 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location.
