Job Description:

At Regions, the Auditor performs internal audit activities in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (SPPIA).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of the audit engagement plan, such as identifying and assessing risk
  • Performs audit engagements according to the internal audit methodology with limited supervision
  • Creates workpapers that meet the audit evidence requirements with limited supervision
  • Drafts audit issues using established criteria in the internal audit methodology
  • Identifies process improvements for the business based on understanding and analysis of process flows/operations

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Two (2) years of experience in internal audit, external audit, banking, or risk management/compliance

Preferences

  • Professional certification or progression towards one, preferably CPA, CIA, CISA, CFSA, CRCM, CFE, CRP, CAMS, CFIRS, CISSP, or CBA

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to listen actively and ask questions as required to validate understanding
  • Ability to identify the appropriate level, timing, and type of communications for different audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation

The Corporate Bank, Credit, and Enterprise Risk Management audit team focuses on topics spanning Corporate Banking, including Capital Markets, areas of Financial Risk Management (including Credit, Market, Liquidity, Capital), and Non-Financial Risk Management (Operational Risk, Third Party Risk Management, Model Risk Management, and Enterprise Risk Management). Our team strives to apply a dynamic approach which allows opportunity for exposure to many key areas of the bank. This position will support the team's objective of timely and relevant assurance by performing process walkthroughs, executing control testing, completing substantive procedures, and other monitoring activities, including the use of data analytics.

Additional Preferences:


-Ability to link business objectives/strategy to processes while understanding key risks and controls
-Comfortable with written and verbal communication to various audiences
-Audit experience and/or related experience in the areas the team covers is preferred

This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$83,180.00 USD
