Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and nurture robust relationships with bank leadership and audit subjects
  • Independently strategize and execute risk-focused audits in accordance with established industry practices
  • Record audit findings and suggest improvements for control measures and operational procedures
  • Work collaboratively with management to identify and resolve audit-related challenges
  • Generate comprehensive reports for executive management and the Board
  • Conduct assessments as part of the annual SOX compliance initiatives
  • Support the Internal Audit Risk Assessment and Planning processes
  • Engage with external auditors, regulatory examiners, and bank staff as necessary
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes
  • Undertake special projects as assigned by management
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on workpapers prepared by colleagues
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and institutional policies
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in auditing, risk management, or compliance
  • Preferred certifications include CPA, CIA, or CRCM
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage various stakeholders
  • Familiarity with federal and state compliance requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Requires prolonged periods of standing and sitting
  • Frequent use of computer systems and occasional public speaking engagements
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 20 pounds
  • Standard office setting with some travel obligations
