Senior Payroll Administrator

The Senior Payroll Administrator is tasked with solving day-to-day operational problems of intermediate and advanced complexity, being knowledgeable in all aspects of payroll to provide superior customer service to all employees, and performing reconciliations and detailed audits to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing in accordance with company policy, Federal, State and Local regulations and applicable tax laws.
*This position requires working on-site in Lake Zurich, IL 3 days per week (either Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday, or Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday).
Responsibilities
- Execute timely and accurate processing of payroll, tax filling, and reporting including, but not limited to weekly payroll, and bi-weekly payroll processing and third-party payments.
- Drive the payroll team with processing and troubleshooting issues daily.
- Process all aspects of timecard administration including new employee set up and monitoring supervisor approvals, password reset and transfers of data to payroll.
- Prepare payroll audit reports for information such as, but not limited to new hires, pay rates changes, job/department transfer, and employee information to ensure information goes to payroll accurately.
- Process employee garnishments in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with legal requirement and company policy.
- Partner with HR business partners to manage human resources activity.
- Provide outstanding customer service when responding to all inquiries.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Prepare and submit post-payroll reports to finance team.
- Process off-cycle payrolls as necessary.
- Assist with requests for information reports, and various system support.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
- 5+ years of related experience in payroll with emphasis on Ceridian or related systems, including at least 1 year in a multi-state payroll environment.
- Dayforce (Ceridian) or related system experience preferred.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state payroll laws and IRS regulations pertaining to payroll compliance.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills.
- Experience working with Time & Attendance payroll and HRMS system.
