VA Careers - Licensed Practical Nurse:

Total-Rewards-of-an-Allied-Health-VA-Career-Licensed Practical Nurse - Major duties of the Specialty, Telemedicine LPN include, but are not limited to:Accurately reports and records all patient screens, medical histories, medication reconciliation, clinical reminders, health information in the patient record.

Responsible for the patient site facilitation of the clinical, business, and technical aspects for telehealth applications through the use of video-conferencing technologies.

Demonstrates a high level of ability to vary order and sequence of assigned procedures and interventions based on the needs of the patient and clinic.

Orients the veteran to the tele-health process and equipment. Assists with the tele-health visit during the diagnostic interview, exam and follow up plans.
Prepares the veteran and telehealth room with the appropriate equipment and supplies. Readies the equipment for exams and establishes the video conferencing connection with the provider's location.

Learns, maintains, and demonstrates competencies necessary for assisting with all procedures, physical exam, and equipment necessary to carry out all duties related to telehealth clinics.

Accurately documents and follows policy and procedures.

Performs other clinical and administrative duties as assigned specific to the unique workload and staffing demands of the specialty medicine unit.

Cross trains to and supports all other specialty medicine specialties and nursing clinics.

Occasional travel to other Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System CBOCs may be needed to staff telemedicine clinics, attend training or attend telemedicine meetings.

Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, Day Shift.

Hours are 7:
30am - 4:00pm or, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Competitive salary and regular salary increases

Paid Time Off:
37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year). Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.

Parental Leave:


After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.


Child Care Subsidy:


After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.
