Position Overview:
Under the general guidance of the Associate Dean and Dean of Health Sciences, the Practical Nursing Educator will deliver educational instruction to students across various modalities, including in-person, online, laboratory, and clinical environments.

The educator may take on the role of course coordinator or lead instructor for specific courses within the program.

This is a full-time role that requires collaboration with fellow faculty members to develop and implement course syllabi in alignment with the Program curriculum and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Instruction and Student Assessment:
    Deliver classroom, laboratory, clinical, and online instruction that aligns with course objectives and accreditation standards. Coordinate classroom learning with clinical experiences through structured assignments and evaluations.
  2. Student Evaluation and Record Keeping:
    Prepare and grade assessments promptly, maintain accurate records of attendance and grades, and communicate student progress regularly.
  3. Curriculum Development:
    Revise and develop course materials and syllabi to meet program objectives, recommend textbooks, and plan educational resources in accordance with institutional guidelines.
  4. Academic Advising:
    Provide guidance to students regarding program requirements and maintain confidentiality while keeping relevant faculty informed about student progress.
  5. Professional Development:
    Engage in ongoing professional growth through workshops, conferences, and other educational opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
  6. Collaboration and Participation:
    Actively participate in college-wide and departmental activities, including serving on committees and representing the college at professional events.

Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree in nursing, a current Nebraska registered nurse license, and two years of nursing experience. Candidates must also commit to obtaining a Master's Degree in Nursing within six years of hire.

Desired Qualifications:
A Master's Degree in Nursing and teaching experience in a post-secondary institution are preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to supervise students in clinical settings, perform essential nursing skills, and maintain health requirements for clinical sites.
