Overview
We are looking for a person to handle design operations and ensure a smooth creative process, allowing our designers to focus on creating innovative and useful digital products and services.
As the design program manager, you will play a crucial role in the efficiency and effectiveness of the design team.
We have a large remit across multiple product portfolios with a focus to improve the quality of our digital experiences as the leader of our industry.
You will be responsible for our design workflow, removing bottlenecks in our process while ensuring the designers have the space to think, concept, iterate, design and test with users.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern product design and development processes, strong analytical skills, and a passion for creating user-centric solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the design workflow, ensuring portfolio design needs are met
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in our process
- Manage the studio specialty resources (ex. conversational designers, communications designers)
- Manage design process documentation (Confluence, Figma)
- Advocate for user-centered design
- Develop and implement staffing plans, including recruiting, interviewing and onboarding full-time and contract resources
- Manage the toolset for designers, and consistently look for new tools and methods to improve our quality of work (ex. Figma, , , Miro)
- Work closely with product managers and engineering leads to ensure design is included throughout the product development lifecycle
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in design, psychology, human-computer interaction, or a related field
- 5 years of experience working as a program manager, design studio manager, digital project manager, or UX leader
- Proven experience designing, executing, and optimizing workflows for digital products
- Familiarity with design thinking principles and methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in collaboration tools and software (e.g., Confluence, Jira, Miro)
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent workshop facilitation capabilities; ability to plan and facilitate workshops like dependency mapping with cross-functional groups
- Experience working in tandem with product designers
- Familiarity with the basics of service design and how to identify service design needs
