Your Responsibilities

As an Environmental Engineering Manager for John Deere Ottumwa Works located in Ottumwa, IA, you will have the following responsibilties:

  • Provide technical and process support to major manufacturing facility in Ottumwa, IA to maintain compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Directly
responsible

for the major environmental compliance programs for the facility (e.g. Air, Chemical Management, Waste, Water, etc.)

  • Collect, analyze, and report environmental data related to compliance and sustainability for the facility.
  • Manage an entry level environmental engineer that is
responsible

for a portion of the environmental compliance programs.

  • Directly
responsible

for the facility ISO # : # EMS certification requirements.

  • Respond and
mitigate

environmental emergency situations at the facility inside or outside of normal business hours.

  • Lead the environmental team, facility leadership, and operations to
champion

our 2030 sustainability ambitions.

What Skills You Need

-5 or more years of experience in environmental compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

  • An enthusiastic communicator able to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with regulatory officials, the workforce, and factory leadership
  • Experience preparing and/or updating environmental plans, permits and standard operating procedures
  • Experience managing environmental programs and connecting associated stakeholders to support facility compliance and corporate strategies
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10%
What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with managing environmental compliance in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience managing and developing people
  • Experience working with complex environmental regulations such as Title V air permitting
  • Experience working with Office 365 tools (Power Bi, SharePoint, etc.)
Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related field
