Overview
Technical planner is responsible for developing the guidance documents needed for Ultrasonic NDT inspection. The various UT inspection facilities will send a technical planning request form to the technician containing print drawings and inspection requirements. Utilizing the information provided the planner will generate a technical guidance packet that will be submitted to the relevant NDT level 3 for final approval.
The specific requirements for each test will be summarized in the documentation provided to the NDT technical planner. It is the responsibility of the planner to compress this information into the pre-approved template / job packet for use at the facility. Relevant drawings will need to be converted from PDF or various formats into Autocad. Technical data will need to be extracted from specifications and transposed into the Element technical planning document.
This individual will report directly to the NDT Technical director and receive work request direct from Elements UT inspection facilities across the Americas.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of ultrasonic testing work instructions and attendance of working groups, symposiums, and conferences to facilitate discussions that produce measurable actions and results
- Completion of technical planning documents within 2 days from request
- Develop and create standard job templates that show each individual job task, tools required to complete each task & technical requirements
- Daily tracking of the progress of each job against the project schedule, identify in a timely manner and notify our engineers / technicians at site & the manager when a service job falls behind schedule
- Maintain each template to ensure that they are up to date, accurate, and achievable
Skills / Qualifications
- Experienced in the use of MS Projects or similar project management software
- Familiar with computer aided drafting software
- Able to work alone and with minimal supervision or support
- Must have a good command of writing good English vocab, able to write professional and accurate reports
