The Role You'd Play as the Executive Director of Giving

The Executive Director of DaVita Giving/Director of Village Giving is responsible for the strategic direction and oversite of various Village Giving and philanthropic programs, initiatives, and impact; local and national nonprofit relationship management; and budgeting, reporting, and maintaining external/internal communications. They oversee organizational operations and team success for Village Giving/Volunteerism and the DaVita Giving Foundation (501c3 funded by DaVita), independently executing with oversite from the Village Giving Council and Foundation Board of Directors. This role is responsible for running Board meetings including but not limited to board of governance regulations, grants management, audits, setting strategic goals, evaluation and reporting.

Required qualifications to be a successful Director of Village Giving:

  • 5-7 years of experience as a Supervisor, leading a team towards a common purpose
  • 5-7 years of experience leading the following:
    • Design, implementation, & administration of operating strategies and operating models desired
    • Continuous improvement processes & initiatives
    • Ideation & innovation processes & development Budget administration
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, or Corporate Social Responsibility preferred
  • Experience in top tier management consulting, investment banking, or corporate healthcare role preferred
  • Strong analytical/financial skills
  • Exceptional project management; ability to organize, direct and lead special projects
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and efficiently with top senior executives both internally and externally
  • Travel up to 15%; Nights/Weekends: occasional evening or weekend event support required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team and Operations Management

  • Oversee operating and giving budgets ($5M)
  • Lead goal setting, program execution, team culture, and change management
  • Identify team's priority areas, re-evaluate as needed and identify areas to create capacity

Strategic Insights and Process Development

  • Develop insights that lead to differential impact on our teammates and communities
  • Responsible for presenting to and getting approval from the Village Giving Council on corporate giving / vol. strategy.
  • Develop metrics, ensure accountability and track the progress of the group's strategy for charitable giving across the Village

Executive Communication

  • Prepare executive-level presentations to share with Village Giving Council (15 Exec Level TMs) and DaVita CEO on monthly basis
  • Act as a strategic thought partner with team across village to evaluate additional opportunities

Special Projects

  • Drive the strategic process on internal projects driven by Village Giving across other teams
  • Influence and drive the work of multi-disciplinary teams
