Position Summary:

The PowerBI Developer will work closely with our data team to deliver PowerBi analytics reporting for our business stakeholders. In addition, they will serve as the main point of contact for support of our offshore PowerBI contractor resources and organizational standardization in the PowerBI space. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and deployment of Power BI reports and dashboards while providing thought guidance, solving technical blockers, and providing direction for offshore PowerBI resources, when needed. Other responsibilities include leading or actively participating in meetings, communicating timelines and expectations by engaging our business analysts, and collaborating technically with our data engineers and architect.

We are looking for a highly energetic and collaborative PowerBI Developer who will support our data and analytics team's efforts to glean insights from complex data sets and has experience working with a variety of data problems and departments, especially in the medical device space.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop data models, reports, and dashboards using Power BI desktop and service.
  • Work with our data engineering team to align on the delivery of underlying data through our Azure Databricks based, Lakehouse architecture.
  • Follow established data security, refresh, and governance policies using Power BI service.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize the performance and quality of the Power BI solutions.
  • Collaborate with the business analysts and stakeholders to understand the requirements and expectations.
  • Provide technical guidance and conduct code reviews.
  • Provide thought guidance around opportunities for improvement of the PowerBI service and dashboard development process.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in Power BI and data analytics.
  • Support offshore PowerBI resources and provide organizational standardization in the PowerBI space, as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 4 years of experience in working with Power BI, the Microsoft BI stack, and SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, DAX, data transformation, and visualization techniques.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; possesses strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with project management and scrum tools, especially those in the Microsoft Azure stack (Azure DevOps).
  • Experience working with offshore contractor resources and/or experience in leading a team of Power BI developers.
  • Experience building out organizational strategies for usage of the PowerBI Platform.
  • Knowledge of scripting and programming languages such as Python
  • Experience presenting data for C-level stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Databricks
