Please review the following job description:

Lead a SAP basis team responsible for installing, upgrading, patching, troubleshooting, and monitoring SAP applications. Utilize hands-on SAP basis and IT management experience to organize 24x7 SAP support; establish priorities based on application needs, developer and business requirements, and IT infrastructure changes; and promote best practices for maintaining SAP applications. Work with architects, auditors, cyber teams, and other IT and business resources to maintain application stability and performance, remediate security vulnerabilities, implement new SAP applications or functionality, and optimize application resource utilization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Direct basis resources to maintain monitoring, on-call support, and subject matter expertise across 12 SAP applications.
  2. Maintain a process to identify and remediate SAP vulnerabilities that impact Truist SAP applications.
  3. Work with developers and business resources to upgrade SAP applications on a periodic basis.
  4. Troubleshoot SAP application problems. Direct developer and infrastructure resources as needed to resolve application issues.
  5. Oversee the SAP basis planning, design, deployment, and testing for projects involving application or application infrastructure changes.
  6. Keep disaster recovery plans for SAP applications updated and perform DR testing as required.
  7. Participate in audit reviews. Help ensure any audit or risk findings are remediated on time.
  8. Has full management responsibilities for teammates: hiring, disciplinary, coaching, terminating, performance reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree and equivalent combination of advanced education and experience, which could include any combination of 8 years of experience in IT software engineering, 5 years' relevant business experience (i.e. making technical-related decisions on the business side), 5 years' experience in project management, and at least 2 years of management experience
  2. Broad and in-depth knowledge of technology trends, competitive environment, regulatory requirements and trends, and IT strategies employed to continually meet the demands of clients and regulators
  3. Ability to translate enterprise level strategic planning information into software and data management needs, create business plans, and turn them into effective business solutions
  4. Executive level communications skills, including, strong negotiation/facilitation/presentation skills and experience negotiating with vendors for relevant products and services
  5. Ability to lead projects of significant complexity and risk exposure, particularly with enterprise-wide implications
  6. Ability to exercise judgment in solving technical, operational, and organizational challenges in the context of complex business objectives and priorities
  7. Ability to lead and manage the performance of multiple teams against a set of financial and operational objectives

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 5 years of experience managing a SAP basis team.
  2. 10 years of SAP basis experience with the following applications: ECC, BW, BOBJ, Portal, Process Orchestrations, Solution Manager, GRC.
  3. Experience supporting SAP applications that utilize AIX, DB2, Linux, and HANA.
  4. Banking or financial services experience.
