Description:

Responsible for operating, monitoring, repairing, and modifying any of the Energy Management Control Systems (ECMS) (building automation systems or HVAC controls) OEM qualified and trained.

Experience working with HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.

Computer experience and the ability to program HVAC related software. Proof of training and certification shall be submitted to the COR prior to the completion of the Transition Period

  • Monitor various building automation system (BAS) computers to ensure that systems are automatically operating within specified parameters (temperature, humidity, static pressure, amps etc.).
  • Monitor the BAS system for energy efficient operations. Monitors other site systems including facilities specific systems such as fire alarm monitoring and may also include research-oriented systems such as the Edstrom System. Assists electrical, mechanical and control system technicians in troubleshooting equipment problems.
  • Service, troubleshooting and repairs including but not limited to; chillers, air handling units, controls, package units, split systems, exhaust fans, refrigerators, freezers, hot/chilled water pumps. Involvement in Site's predictive maintenance program so previous experience is highly desirable.
  • Tasks ranging from operation of systems to the examination and evaluation of equipment to determine needed repairs
  • Installs refrigeration and air conditioning systems by positioning compressors, motors, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators, heaters and other components in accordance with design specifications.
  • Adjust systems for optimal performance
  • Maintains refrigeration and air conditioning systems by checking performance and determining problems. Repairs, adjusts, or replaces defective elements.
  • Maintains and repairs the electrical and pneumatic systems associated with refrigeration and air conditioning equipment from the safety switch throughout the equipment.
  • Maintains, repairs, operates all types centrifugal and reciprocating refrigeration/air-conditioning systems; also all types of pneumatic/electro-mechanical temperature controls.
