Position Title: Stationary Engineer - Temporary

Role Overview: We are seeking a Stationary Engineer to join our team. This temporary role is designed to last approximately six months, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position. The working hours for this role are from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday.

The primary responsibility of the Stationary Engineer will be to oversee, diagnose, and maintain equipment within the Central Mechanical Plant and related facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the upkeep of site machinery and building infrastructure.
  • Monitor site operations utilizing the Building Management Control System (BMCS).
  • Assist maintenance personnel with the upkeep and repair of air systems within the facility.
  • Engage in troubleshooting activities for all equipment on-site.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all operational equipment.
  • Identify deficiencies during maintenance tasks and report them to the supervisor.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and government representatives, offering solutions to operational challenges.
  • Oversee the work of plumbers and maintenance staff as directed.
  • Supervise subcontractors and provide necessary reports.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a DC 3rd Class Engineer License; a Maryland 1st Class Engineer License is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of commercial and industrial building systems, including chillers, pumps, air handlers, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of chiller plant operations and building air systems.
  • Willingness to work various shifts as required.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an ISSA TS with SCI clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform heavy physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing up to 100 lbs.
  • Capability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in moving and lifting equipment and supplies.
  • Manual dexterity and mobility are essential.
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching are required.
