Position: Stationary Engineer - Temporary

Overview: We are currently seeking a Stationary Engineer for a temporary assignment. This role involves working in a Central Mechanical Plant and associated facilities. The assignment duration is approximately six months, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the upkeep of site machinery and building infrastructure.
  • Monitor operations via the Building Management Control System (BMCS).
  • Support General Maintenance Workers in maintaining and repairing air systems within the facility.
  • Assist in diagnosing issues with all site equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment present.
  • Identify deficiencies during job performance and communicate them to the supervisor.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and stakeholders, providing solutions to operational challenges.
  • Supervise plumbing and maintenance staff as directed.
  • Oversee subcontractor activities and provide necessary reports.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a DC 3rd Class Engineer License; a Maryland 1st Class Engineer License is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of commercial and industrial building systems, including chillers, pumps, air handlers, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of chiller plant operations and building air systems.
  • Willingness to work various shifts.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain an ISSA TS with SCI eligibility and polygraph clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform heavy physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing up to 100 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Manual dexterity and mobility for equipment handling.
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
