Position Overview

We are currently looking for a motivated Substation Engineer to join our growing Substation and Transmission Line Design team As part of the team of highly specialist design professional, you will support variety of substation, transmission and distribution project ranging from 12kv to 500kV. We are supporting both engineering design and EPC projects for clients throughout the country.

Location

This position is based out of Portland, OR or Salt Lake City, UT. Relocation assistance is available to well-qualified candidates.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the project team to create all design documents and drawings, including one and three-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, communications diagrams, wiring diagrams, substation layout plans, section and detail drawings.
  • Specification development for the procurement, installation, and testing of substation equipment.
  • Apply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, equipment sizing, relay coordination, and electrical studies.
  • Communicate and coordinate project activities with project lead, customer representatives, and other stakeholders.

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited university
    • At least 2 years of experience performing engineering-related duties preferred
    • Knowledge of engineering standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English language
    • Legally able to work in the United States for any length of time
