Job Summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Portland, OR or Salt Lake City, UT. As a key member of our Power Delivery department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced electrical systems and infrastructure for our generation, transmission, and distribution facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement complex electrical engineering studies, plans, and specifications for substation major equipment.
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including power transmission and distribution lines, substations, and switchgear.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage and coordinate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on substation design and development.
  • Advanced technical degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including power systems, transmission and distribution, and substation design.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with industry-standard software and tools, such as ETAP and SKM PowerTools.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards, including NERC and IEEE.
