Overview of the Organization:

The focus of Lifecycle Management in Global Supply Chain & Manufacturing Strategy is on coordinating with technical and commercial teams for product lifecycle management to plan pre- and post-launch product lifecycles on a global scale. The team leads discussions and decisions on portfolio management before supporting business development and sourcing activities in alignment with the strategy.

Role Summary:

The position of **Senior Director - Product Lifecyle Management** entails crafting and implementing comprehensive strategies to optimize the complete lifecycle of pharmaceutical products. This involves ensuring regulatory adherence, fostering collaboration across different functions, and driving continuous enhancements for improved product performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Functional:
  • Product Portfolio Oversight
    • Establish processes at both individual and enterprise levels to introduce strategic Product Portfolio Management, collaborating cross-functionally to implement and secure support for proposals.
    • Conduct portfolio evaluations to evaluate the performance and potential of existing and upcoming products.
    • Create and execute product lifecycle management (PLM) strategies that align with business goals and market dynamics.
    • Work with R&D, regulatory affairs, commercial, and supply chain teams to facilitate smooth transitions across different product development stages.
  • Launch Strategy
    • Offer initial input into the overall New Product Launch initiative and assess launch feasibility based on early estimations of global demand and necessary capacity from the supply chain design team.
    • Provide refined input into the Global Launch initiative and reevaluate launch feasibility after receiving regional launch plans from demand planning.
    • Assist in the handover to supply planning regarding the feasibility of launch schedules for new products.
    • Ensure that all products comply with relevant regulations from development through post-launch phases.
  • Product Retirement Plans
    • Coordinate communication and processes for product discontinuations with relevant stakeholders.
    • Enhance processes to ensure that discontinuations are globally compliant yet require minimal effort.
  • Variety & Flavor Management
    • Formulate an initial perspective on flavor management post integration of regional demand forecasts into NPL planning & commencement of launch execution.
    • Provide insights for decision-making concerning product improvements and alterations.
Leadership:
  • Encourage an environment of innovation and excellence within the product lifecycle management team.
  • Promote transparent and open communication within the team, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that encourages idea exchange and feedback.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively relay complex product lifecycle concepts to all stakeholders.
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree plus over 10 years of experience in a relevant field like pharmaceutical sciences, business, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated expertise in product lifecycle management in the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory mandates and industry benchmarks.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
  • Advanced degree or pertinent certifications.
  • Outstanding project management and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Analytical mindset with the capability to analyze product performance data.
  • Strategic thinking and the capacity to align PLM activities with overarching business objectives.
