Director of Annual Giving

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement and in collaboration with the advancement staff, the Director of Annual Giving develops and implements the annual fund strategies and programs that include the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of annual gifts from all KUA constituents including alumni, parents, and friends.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plans, develops, and implements a strategic plan of action with objectives, timelines and evaluation plans for the Annual Fund program including personal solicitations, direct mail, email and social media strategies.
  • Works closely with Director of Advancement and other departmental colleagues to ensure coordination with their respective fundraising efforts.
  • Uses development database and report writing software to retrieve data. Performs comprehensive analysis and manipulation related to all aspects of the annual fund program. Uses data driven approach to evaluate current Annual Fund programs and to make recommendations for program changes.
  • Thinks out of the box and makes quick recommendations in a very fluid environment.
  • Develops and implements a plan of reporting of Annual Fund progress to both internal and external constituents.
  • Responsible for developing and evaluating Annual Fund program and reporting of program's progress to achieve aggressive annual fund goals.
  • Integral in the acknowledgment and recognition process of all annual fund gifts, including the annual report to donors.
  • Promotes community awareness and support for the annual fund program.
  • Leads planning and orchestration of annual Day of Giving.
  • Oversees milestone reunion fundraising and volunteer efforts. QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of successful fundraising experience. Annual Fund experience preferred.
    • A results-oriented individual, who demonstrates the ability to work well with people at all levels of an organization, develops relationships with diverse constituencies, and simultaneously employs keen judgment has the best opportunity for success.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles and practices associated with fundraising in independent schools, including direct mail, social media, reunion giving and donor relations.
    • Strong database and data analytic skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
    • Volunteer management experience preferred.
    • Raiser's Edge experience preferred.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects.
    • Advanced use of MS Office applications required.
    • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
    • High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information.
    • Work on occasional nights and weekends to support Advancement and institutional event needs.
