The University of Cincinnati College of Law seeks to fill one full-time lateral tenure-track or tenured faculty position with an expected start date of August 15, 2024.

We invite applications from candidates with teaching and research interests across all areas of law. Areas of special interest include Business Law, Employment Law, and Property Law.

An applicant must have:
a J.D.

or its equivalent; a distinguished academic record; evidence of, or the demonstrated promise of, scholarly achievement; and a passion for teaching.

Essential Functions

  • Make regular and meaningful contributions to scholarly debates and the relevant literature.
  • Teach assigned courses.
  • If hired as senior faculty, mentor junior faculty.
  • Serve on college or university committees and participate in curriculum development activities.
  • Participate in faculty governance.
  • Prepare materials for teaching.
  • Mentor and advise students on their development, including choices relating to academic program, research projects, and possible career directions.
  • Engage and lead in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
  • Render service to the professional or lay community as relevant to the individual's academic specialty.
  • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University related communications.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

  • Applicants must possess a J.
D or equivalent degree.

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research or the promise of such excellence.
  • Must exercise self discipline and have the ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • Possess outstanding leadership skills which demonstrate evidence of effective teaching ability, commitment to student success, and service to the profession.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject.
  • Must have outstanding writing skills to present research in written format.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
