The Certified Medical Assistant in the Musculoskeletal Clinic aids in the examination and treatment of patients under a Physician/Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner supervision in the ambulatory service clinical setting. Duties include: chart review before patient clinical visit; assisting physician with procedures/treatments; equipment operation; assisting patients in preparation for examination/procedure; performs venipuncture; specimen collection and submission to appropriate laboratory; cleaning and sterilization of instrumentation; order and inventory supplies; records and documents in medical record; maintains examination/procedure room supplies; assists with efficient patient flow; assists with orientation of new staff; and participates in quality assurance programs.

The role of Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) requires the ability to gather and exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain medical center polices, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or medical center employees. More sensitive situations may be referred to others as appropriate.

Shift:

Full Time (40 hours)

Day Shift; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • AAMA, RMA, NRCMA or CCMA certification;
  • CPR/BLS Certification

Salary Range: Minimum $18.15 per hour - Maximum $26.32 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
