The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a skilled Orthopedic Trauma Care Specialist to join our team at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. As a vital member of our trauma team, you will provide exceptional care to patients with orthopedic injuries from admission through discharge.
This is a full-time position with a 4-day workweek, with rotating days. We encourage new graduates with orthopedic experience to apply.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough patient interviews and physical examinations to assess health status and develop treatment plans.
- Order and evaluate diagnostic tests, including laboratory tests, to inform patient care decisions.
- Document patient progress, treatment plans, and health histories in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Provide high-quality patient care in both clinic and hospital settings, prioritizing patient safety and satisfaction.
- Participate in multidisciplinary quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
- Education: Graduation from a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or a Master of Science degree in Nursing with completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Experience: Preference given to candidates with experience, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- License/Certification: National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification or Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Nursing, and certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the area of specialization.
- Must have CRNP - Acute Care or PA-C license.
