Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Manager, Medical and Scientific Communications. The manager of Medical and Scientific Communications will be a key member of the Medical and Scientific Communications Department within the Medical Affairs organization. The ideal candidate will participate in the multidisciplinary therapeutic area team and contribute to the functional strategic plan in support of one or several therapeutic area(s). The individual will be responsible for developing and executing project plans that ensure pre- and post- product launch preparedness of Medical and Scientific Communications in a specific therapeutic area.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute projects plans that ensure pre- and post- product launch preparedness of the Medical Information department
  • Provide management of Medical Information activities for a therapeutic area and oversight of the Medical Information call center vendor for a therapeutic area
  • Provide supportive function and organization/management of publications for a therapeutic area
  • Provide organization and management of congress planning for a therapeutic area
  • Oversee the staffing of Medical Information booths at designated scientific meetings and manage related activities, including coordinating the training of booth staff

Key Core Competencies

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Organizational and planning skills, be detail-oriented
  • Experience in scientific/medical literature identification and evaluation
  • Familiarity with PC based applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks in timely fashion
  • Analytical, solutions-oriented, negotiation and strategic-thinking skills

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Minimum of a master's degree in pharmacy or related science. Advanced degree in related science preferred (PharmD, etc.)

The base salary range for this role is $122,100 to $160,250. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state. Our robust time-off policy includes unlimited paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
