All operational and support areas within Pinto Valley and SMARRCO operations

External:
Contractors and service providers to ensure that all PVM safety procedures and guidelines are followed
State and Federal regulators

PEOPLE REPORTING TO THIS POSITION

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Work in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures
Work in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine Standard Operating Procedures
Ensure that employees and contractors are competent to execute the tasks / jobs assigned
Safety Coordination
Work closely with site management to ensure that programs and initiatives are consistent with industry best practice and regulatory requirements, and that programs and initiatives are rigidly adhered to
Provide guidance, direction, and support to operations and maintenance area management
Provide guidance regarding HSEC related inspections, investigations, and reporting requirements
HSE Committee
Organize and conduct Risk Audits with committee members
Prepare final Audit Reports
Follow-up on Actions or Suggestions
Company Safety Committee
Organize and conduct Risk Audits with committee members

Follow-up on Actions or Suggestions
Contractor Safety Program
Assist with Contractor Safety Program
Participate in inspections of contractor equipment and work areas
Manage contractor HSEC communications plan
Regulatory Compliance
Interface with State and Federal regulatory agencies
Coordinate inspections and complaint visits with area supervisors and miner's representatives
Follow-up notices of violation to completion
Review assessments and determine whether to contest or not (work with attorneys)
Serve as advisor to management on federal regulations
Incident Reports
Provide coaching and address concerns/issues
Assist as member of incident investigation team
Follow-up with supervision for corrective action completion
Safety Initiatives Maintenance
Track and report trends to improve Safety and Health of employees
Manage Good Catch reporting and correction
Procedures
Assist with development of new procedures and review/update existing of procedures
HSE Field Audits
Conduct, lead, and document regular field inspections
Follow-up on corrective actions or suggestions
Meeting and Training Attendance
Attend department daily, weekly, and monthly meetings as requested
Attend regular HSE meetings
Attend various training classes
Attend various special or impromptu meetings as required
General HSE
Assist other HSE Departments as requested (Training, Security, Environment, Land & Permitting, and Health)
Behave in a way that demonstrates support of Capstone's Vision and Values: Safety, Accountability, Excellence, and Caring
Assist with industrial hygiene sampling and studies
Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge
Familiarity with MSHA and State Mine Inspector regulatory requirements.
Previous mining experience required
Familiarity with incident investigation, reporting, and auditing
Key Competencies / Skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Self-motivated with a strong focus on affecting positive change
Ability to see gaps in safety and training systems and take ownership to correct them
Ability to coach and motivate others to perform work safely and in adherence to PVM's policies and procedures

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The majority of the work performed is done in the field in operational areas. However, some work is performed in an office environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, including walking up and down stairs and across uneven surfaces.

Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in both hot and cold environments with high humidity.
Ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, and squat, occasionally in confined spaces.
However, some work is performed in an office environment

Estimated Salary:
$20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
