SUMMARY

Responsible for providing day-to-day support of business applications that are in use enterprise-wide. This position supports our customers, implementation planning, upgrades and support for new business applications. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system/application issues with technical support staff, application vendors and clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Provides detailed technical and customer support for insurance business applications such as agency management systems/applications, claims, policy management systems/applications and financial systems/applications;


• Evaluates release notes and communicates relevant information to appropriate staff as new releases become available;


• Coordinates and performs application rollouts and upgrades with vendors, end-users and IT groups;


• Acts as primary system administrator for applications;


• Provides analysis and problem definition for production issues;


• Identifies, manages, and implements system/process improvements;


• Writes and delivers custom reports as requested as well as administrative documentation;


• Builds and maintains strong business relationships with all levels of staff and management;


• Works closely with technical support staff, database administrators, software developers and business
teams to ensure application readiness and supportability;


• Ability to assist in data cleanup activities with users and project team for conversion purposes;


• Develops and maintains a high technical knowledge on business applications and underlying technologies;


• Strong documentation skills of applications technical specifications and processes for managing support;


• Leads, mentors and trains more junior level staff on industry best practices and technical skills;


• Ability to travel if needed;


• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in computer technology or equivalent combination of education and experience

Seven (7) or more years related work experience with a demonstrated understanding of application support for business office applications, system architecture for Internet based

applications, relational database architecture, SQL queries and software development lifecycle SDLC

Insurance industry experience preferred but not required

SKILLS

Good verbal and written communication skills

Excellent customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills

Ability to work within a fast paced team and foster teamwork

Good leadership, planning, organizational and prioritization skills

Self-starter, with the ability to work independently with minimal direction

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong ability to resolve multiple complex and critical issues

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to rapidly changing priorities

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Internet Application/System Architectures and trouble shooting skills
