OVERVIEW

The Northeast Sales Team is seeking a determined and energetic Customer Account Specialist to accelerate General Mills' sales at foodservice operators in the Greater Boston area.

As a Customer Account Specialist (CAS) you will drive incremental sales and volume as well as sustain existing business at foodservice operators in the Lodging, Commercial Restaurant, K-12, Colleges & Universities, and Healthcare channels in New England.

In this role, you will sell a broad portfolio of front-of-house and back-of-house products, including: Frozen Baked Goods, Flour, Mixes, Cereal and Yogurt, Snacks, I/W Frozen Meals. Through these selling efforts you will develop mutually beneficial partnerships with foodservice operators across all customer channels and record all activity in Salesforce.

You will work closely with the Account Executives, CAS peers and Distributor Sales Representatives, providing expertise to your customers daily. You will also leverage sales tools and analyze internal reporting to strategically plan daily activities to identify new business opportunities. You will support critical distributor and industry events (ie. Food Shows, Distributor Sales Meetings, etc).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Sustain existing business and drive new, incremental sales volume

  • Sell General Mills foodservice products to foodservice customers in our focus channels across assigned territory.
  • Leverage resources such as Salesforce, Firefly, customer purchase data, Google, customer websites and social media, etc. to properly inform yourself about customers' operations and prepare for sales calls accordingly.
  • Leverage a broad portfolio of marketing and trade resources to overcome customer objections and close sales.
  • Partner with distributor sales teams to educate them about our products and empowering them to sell on your behalf to their customers.
  • Collaborate with the region'sAccount Executives to effectively create operator demand for new items through distributors including, but not limited to Sysco, GFS, USF, PFS and many independents.
  • Collaborate with CAS peers to provide efficient customer account coverage and Account Executive support.
  • Leverage analytics (i.e. Salesforce, Firefly, Excel-based reporting) combined with local expertise to identify new sales opportunities.

Other Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic call pattern that maximizes your sales call coverage (minimum of 16-20 operator sales calls per week to sell approximately cs of incremental volume per month)
  • Demonstrate product knowledge to operators through at-home and on-site sample preparation across all product platforms.
  • Support critical distributor and industry events, i.e. Industry Expos, Distributor Food Shows, Distributor Sales Meetings, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma, Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • "Winning as One" Mentality / Team Player
  • Self-motivated and able to maintain workload from a remote office
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of sales experience
  • Problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of the territory

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $ $ / Annually.
