Job Summary

Promote Safety and Health Program to prevent injuries and illnesses from work related causes, and to minimize losses of material resources and interruptions from accidental occurrences. It is directed toward the control of all types of hazards encountered in the performance of on the job duties.

Safety & Health Awareness: Oversee distribute of read and signs, bulletins and posters for location and discuss new procedures with station personnel.

Accident Prevention: Perform safety audits on ramp operations and provide feedback to management. Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law, WFS and airline policies. Issue safety warnings/tickets as preventable measures.

Safety Monitoring: Lead safety committee meetings and provide feedback to management. Review station audits, review station incidents/accidents/injuries, review station statistics to determine areas of improvement, stimulate hourly personnel involvement in the safety culture, and distribute safety awards as established in company guidelines, accident/Incident Reporting, Investigation, & Analysis, assist with all incident/accident/injury reports.

Quality: Work with ramp management to ensure station is delivering services as contracted by tracking and reporting client and WFS SLAs. Investigate and review any service failures.

Work with GM and Regional Director to ensure all reports are followed up with corrective action to prevent re occurrence, work with training department to identify deficiencies in safety and OJT training, identify through audits system deficiencies in the areas of new hire and OJT training and establish procedures for follow up training due to incident/accident.

Responsibilities

Safety

  • Lead root cause analysis on all safety incidents including aircraft accidents and employee injuries
  • Safety audits

Conduct safety audits as per WFS policy

Exhibit exemplary safety behavior and deliver unbiased and high-quality audits

Review and analyze safety finding trends and determine corrective actions

  • Ensure compliance to communication guidelines and Pulse system reporting
  • Lead/organize safety committee meeting as per WFS policy
  • Proactively set up review meetings with relevant stakeholders for review of corrective/preventative actions
  • Create bulletins/briefings based that result as part of any corrective action

Quality

  • Lead root cause analysis on all service failures including delays, loading errors, water/lav issues, etc.
  • Monitor client SLAs to include at a minimum OTP, firs/last bag and first/last cargo.

  • Conduct periodic audit compliance to WFS and client specific training including ramp, cabin cleaning and other services.
  • Ensure access to airline's GOMs.
  • Ensure LOPs are in place for airport specific requirements and create new ones based on risk assessments.
Minimum Requirements
  • BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
