Job Description

Supports Manufacturing Operations by assembling high-quality, small format medical devices in accordance with established procedures and in support of the production schedule. An Assembler II is also expected to assist with training less experienced assemblers.

Job Duties

  • Interacts, primarily, with varying levels of Manufacturing, Engineering, and Research team members. May interact with external customer contacts including participating in tours by visitors, including VIPs, and may be questioned and/or observed during audits.
  • Assembles components into medical devices in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures. Assembly may be in clean rooms, and may involve assembly of miniature components under a microscope.
  • Performs in-process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished product. Utilizes small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, microscopes, and custom fixtures, tools and assembly aids.
  • Participates in meetings as required.
  • Works collaboratively with engineers and technicians to resolve process issues and suggests improvements on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintains clean room integrity by using proper attire and adherence to clean room environment practices and procedures.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records/documentation related to quality, work in progress, test results, labor (e.g. timecards) and special projects.
  • Strictly adheres to general safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and FDA regulations.
  • Fulfills assembly requests for prototypes against verbal or written instructions as required.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as requested or assigned.
  • Train other assemblers on a wide range of tasks.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in the assembly of small format medical devices or equivalent experience in a regulated environment with an aerospace or military contractor working on small-format products required.
  • Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.): Ability to work overtime, including evenings and weekends on occasion.

Preferred:

  • Experience in operating and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Familiar with the operation of basic computer programs, including ability to electronically enter and format data.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • High level attention to details and willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes required.
  • Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity required.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills: Ability to read, write, and comprehend English required.
  • Proven ability to read and work from engineering drawings, written procedures and verbal instructions.
  • Familiarity with lab notebooks and keeping accurate records.
  • Ability to work productively in a collaborative, team environment.
  • Easily adapts to dynamic, challenging job responsibilities.
  • A proven record of consistently following through on commitments. Maintains and communicates realistic schedules and meets or beats deadlines.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $ $23.85 / hour, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
