Job Description

  • Creation of the layout concept of the complete plant (process engineering, construction, electrical instrumentation and control, logistics, etc.)
  • Review of offer layouts at reviews and enforcing necessary corrective measures
  • Coordination and preparation of the planning documents such as layout plans and, if necessary, load and construction data, stages, piping and main strip plans
  • Creation of the HZI concepts (stages, escape routes, and hoist concept) and implementing them in planning
  • Develops and implements HZI planning standards (training) and is responsible for their compliancy
  • Distribution of tasks to relevant allocated employees, supervising these employees and monitoring performance of tasks
  • Education of system and Lead Planers within the scope of a project execution
  • Ensuring compliance with HZI's work methodology and guidelines HZI work (e.g. planning directives)
  • Contact person in the project team for meetings with third parties regarding all planning issues
  • At the start of the project, establishing information exchange concept and ensuring the exchange of all necessary layout data with third parties (customers, consortium partners and suppliers)
  • Technical Clarification / meetings with the specialist departments and technical project management
  • Coordination of the interfaces, for example, between components, pipe ducts and construction
  • Verification of installation and component drawings of external and internal suppliers
  • Review and incorporation of construction and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning plans to the extent necessary for layout planning
  • Coordination with site coordinator regarding delivery of components / time schedule and site support during construction and installation phase
  • Documentation of planning changes and deviations from the construction scope for the establishment and defense of claims, support for TPM Civil
  • Compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements regarding configuration, accessibility and load
  • Contribution to the Planning Manual (knowledge database) and the PDMS Library
  • Ensuring compliance with HSE requirements

General Experience:

  • Experience with proposal development, project execution, and site installation
  • Performed in Lead ME/PI Design Role on medium to large scale industrial projects
  • Plant Layout & Design: 2D Arrangements, 3D Modeling
  • Mechanical Design: 2D Mechanical Detail Drawings,3D Modeling
  • Piping System Development and Design: 2D Drawing,3D Modeling, Piping Isometrics, Piping Support Details
  • P&ID Development and Design: Experience with KKS Identification System is a plus
  • Details and Lists: Development and Management of Drawing List, Equipment List, Piping Line List, Pipe Support List
  • Team Leadership: Experience managing small teams (3-5 designers and drafters)
  • Field Experience is a plus

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from two-year college or technical school, OR
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Software and Lotus Notes
  • Solid working knowledge of drafting principals and AutoCAD software. Proficient at viewing and querying 3D Plant Design Software such as PDMS, COMOS or AutoCAD 2D & AutoCAD Plant 3D /Inventor is required.
  • Working knowledge of applicable boiler piping design codes (ASME, B31.1, EN 13480, etc.) is desirable;
  • Working knowledge of industry drafting standards.
  • Above average organization skills with the ability to multitask in an environment with changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interface skills within the organization and with suppliers / fabricators.
  • Must facilitate good working relationships with peers.
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor or in a team environment.
  • Work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to make sound engineering and commercial decisions
  • Strong mechanical, analytical and technical skills.
  • Exhibits high degree of initiative.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, sometimes upon short notice.
