Job Summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled Physical Substation Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Physical (Outdoor) Substation Engineering Group, you will be responsible for designing and checking deliverables associated with high voltage substations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop deliverables, including One Line Diagrams, Substation Layouts, Foundation Plans, Conduit/Raceway Plans, Grounding Plans, Bills of Materials, and Cable Schedules, using Autodesk products such as Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with the Physical (Outdoor) Substation Engineering Group Lead to ensure timely completion of assignments within budget and schedule.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE) based physical design standards to ensure compliance with IEEE and/or client standards.
  • Prepare technical documents and project materials, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited).
  • Expertise in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE).
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency with layout designs in 2D and 3D.
  • Entry-level (0-1 years experience).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Power Systems or Substation Design.
  • Proficiency with the latest Autodesk software tools, methods, and technologies.
  • Engineer-in-Training Certification (EIT).
Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid (home and office) arrangement located in Knoxville, TN.
