We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer with expertise in LabVIEW and Python programming to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and debugging automation scripts and workflows to control and communicate with various controllers and test equipment. This role involves working with internal teams to provide software support, developing documentation, and performing various engineering tasks that enhance skills and methods. The position requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving and a collaborative mindset in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and debug automation scripts and workflows using LabVIEW and Python.
  • Design, develop, and test LabVIEW/Python scripts to communicate with and control various controllers and test equipment.
  • Proficiently communicate with diverse test equipment using multiple communication protocols such as Serial, I2C, SPI, etc.
  • Test input and output signals of electronic boards to interface with prototype thermal modules, motor drivers, and optical modules.
  • Provide support to internal engineering teams on programming requests and develop thorough documentation for the designed systems and software.
  • Engage in various engineering tasks that promote skill development and learning of new methods.
  • Provide documentation for both new and existing designs to ensure proper understanding and replication of systems.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of programming experience in Python and LabVIEW.
  • Proven experience in designing and debugging test benches.
  • Familiarity with controlling modules using diverse communication protocols.
  • Experience with motor controllers, thermal modules (such as heaters and TEC), and other electronic components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, lean strategic team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for both written and oral documentation and team collaboration.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Demonstrated experience with prototype equipment bring-up and control.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with a strong drive to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Motivated, curious, and open attitude toward learning and developing new skills.
