Test Engineer III


As a Test Engineer III, you will play a key role in project teams, contributing to both the design and development of new test architectures, as well as sustaining engineering tasks. Your responsibilities will include the creation, development, scheduling, and execution of functional, performance, and environmental test architectures.


Key Duties:


  • Review device and system-level functional specifications, design documents, and project documentation.
  • Contribute to the review and development of software products, including design and coding processes.
  • Ensure all test protocols are automatable, adhere to testing standards, and are well-documented.
  • Develop work estimates and provide regular status updates for testing efforts.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the project manager, project engineer, and team members to ensure that tasks are prioritized and executed in a timely manner.
  • Potentially lead and coordinate portions or the entirety of the testing effort for a project, including the development and tracking of test plans and schedules, and reporting on test results.


Position Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience in software engineering (e.g., software requirements analysis, design, and testing).
  • Expert proficiency in the Linux operating system.
  • Advanced skills in programming and debugging complex shell (bash), TCL, C, C++, Python, and Ruby scripts.
  • Hands-on experience with test tools and equipment, particularly high-end signal, spectrum, and vector network analyzers.
  • Experience controlling test instrumentation using SCPI commands.
  • Strong ability to write and execute test procedures, with excellent documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects, and support production activities.
  • Solid technical background with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in personal computing and software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Desired Skills:


  • Previous experience testing software-defined radios operating in the S, X, and Ka frequency bands.
  • Experience working in the space industry, particularly with space-rated components.
