Lead Specialist - Technology Project/Program Management


KPMG Assignment Select is geared toward independent professionals interested in temporary or project-based work. Our team is comprised of highly trained third-party professional individuals who are in the right place, at the right time, with the right skillset.


KPMG is working through its partnership with Magnit and is currently seeking a hybrid contractor based in the Denver, Colorado area.


Oversees and provides direction throughout the duration of projects, from design stages to beta testing and through to final production. This includes the day-to-day instruction, strategic direction, and/or organizational initiatives pertaining to the technical project or program. Functions performed include defining and executing against goals/deadlines, tracking, and reporting progress/budget, maintaining support documentation, and responding to contingencies during the technical cycle of events.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the launch and full lifecycle of a complex, cross-functional program in the emerging tech space and works closely with key stakeholders, including national, global, and service leaders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and business objectives
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive program strategy, including defining scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics, articulating the long-term vision for the program, while developing short-term plans that enable the achievement of objectives
  • Implement processes in support of the Technology Project/Program Management work area’s overall strategy as well as robust tracking and reporting mechanisms to monitor program progress, performance, and outcomes
  • Communicate program results to leaders and key stakeholders; provide timely and accurate reporting on status, identified barriers, and timelines; manage the program budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial constraints
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in generative AI and related technologies and drive continuous improvement and innovation within the program
  • Simplify complex technology subjects in a way that can be easily understood by less technical audiences; oversees cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, consultants, and other specialists, to ensure cohesive and effective collaboration and guides junior colleagues through consultation and mentoring


Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of recent experience in program or project management, preferably working with emerging technologies and/or large change management efforts
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • Proven record of success launching and executing large-scale programs; demonstrated ability to navigate rapidly changing environments; ability to be builders and highly agile; track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is a must
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and management; demonstrated ability to self-direct and prioritize constantly evolving workload; previous experience creating formal program management deliverables/reports
  • Working knowledge of Agile Methodology, Project Planning, Systems Development Life Cycle, Project Scoping, Microsoft Project, Scrum (Software Development), written communication, detail oriented, influencing skills, interpersonal communications, project schedules, change management, verbal communication skills, timelines, Project Management Institute (PMI) Methodology, scheduling, Microsoft Visio, Business Requirements, Project Risk Management, Project Documentation, Project Implementation, Software Development Life Cycle, Budgeting, and JIRA
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; willingness to dive deep and experiment rapidly

Additionally, applicants may be required to apply and become employed by a service provider utilized by KPMG, and final pay rate(s) and/or eligibility for additional benefits may be determined by such provider.


$70 - $75 hourly (USD)
