This person is an analytical and creative thinker who approaches building a marketing program through a full-funnel lens with an emphasis on growth. This person possesses a deep understanding of performance metrics and creative executions and how the two work together, gleaning insights that can be put into action. They can both conceptualize creative marketing ideas, brief designers and copywriters and get deep in the performance numbers to determine what’s working and what’s not.


The ideal candidate is a highly strategic planner that creates goals then builds a plan to achieve them while also being nimble when required. They’re highly operational and ready to turn plans into action. This role is designed for an integrated marketer with a proven track record of growing and scaling early stage consumer goods brands (ideally within beauty, including skincare, haircare or bodycare).


Core Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Founder/CEO to build a full-funnel marketing strategy that meets Motif’s revenue goals by driving acquisition and retention.
  • Lead on goal-setting, forecasting, and planning for performance channels: primarily advertising (Meta primarily, eventually scaling across YouTube, TikTok and Google), affiliate, website/LP optimization.
  • Support building and leading the growth marketing team, including the internal team, and external agencies
  • Consult and collaborate on our Influencer program to turn content into revenue-driving media.
  • Run day-to-day execution of integrated channel mix, partnering with our freelancers on organic channel strategy, constantly gleaning insights based on performance metrics and finding ways to improve our KPIs.
  • Identify, assess, and introduce new revenue-driving channels to test into and continue to diversify the marketing mix.
  • Co-own and be the shepherd of the marketing and promotional calendar so we’re executing as planned and seizing great opportunities.
  • Drive campaign and promotional planning designed to hit growth goals.
  • Lead on execution of planned promotions and opportunistic initiatives with the help of our freelancers.
  • Prioritize initiatives so Motif is building an efficient marketing program and doing more with our existing resources.
  • Consult on lead-generation and brand partnerships to ensure we’re building in acquisition opportunities.
  • Work closely with Motif’s team of freelancers and agencies to execute creative and project manage various workstreams.
  • Utilize advanced analytics to monitor, analyze and report on campaign performance and attribution.
  • Interpreting data and applying insights to drive continuous improvement and strategic refinement across all initiatives.


Preferred Experience

  • Direct experience working within the beauty industry 
  • 4+ years of experience running revenue-focused marketing campaigns and programs, with a focus on channel management, including paid social, for early stage consumer brands (sub $5M ARR).
  • Experience forecasting performance against revenue goals and planning to meet them
  • Startup or small team experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of executing complex strategies with precision
  • Expertise in executing and scaling cross channel paid media strategies, with a track record of delivering measurable results.
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in marketing analytics and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading marketing teams, fostering an environment of collaboration and high performance.
