Supply Chain-Focused Private Equity Firm Hiring for Vice President
Dear Colleague,
Cambridge Capital, a middle-market growth capital and buyout fund focused on the supply chain sector, is expanding. We are seeking an experienced investment professional that will be responsible for deal origination, analysis, execution, and portfolio management. He or she will be located in our West Palm Beach headquarters and operate with significant autonomy to identify attractive investment opportunities, negotiate for their purchase, secure financial backing, and support the firm's portfolio at the Board level.
The right candidate will:
- Have at least 7 years of experience in investment banking or private equity (with at least 2 years of that experience in private equity)
- Operate with the highest levels of integrity and trustworthiness
- Demonstrate a track record of success
- Be proficient with Excel and financial modeling
- Be able to conduct meaningful conversations with M&A professionals
- Have demonstrated the ability to build and maintain productive professional relationships
- Be highly organized and diligent with follow-up
- Be a self-starter comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Sourcing, Screening, Vetting Deals
- Screening investment opportunities from investment bankers, deal brokers and other sources, including marking up and executing their NDAs and fee agreements
- Vetting opportunities thoroughly through conversations with sell-side advisors, sellers, operators with whom Cambridge Capital maintains relationships, conducting primary and secondary research and contacting investors with sector expertise
- Building LBO and other models
Negotiating, Winning, Financing Deals
- Writing and negotiating IOIs and LOIs
- Producing supplementary deal materials
- Attending management presentations
- Identifying appropriate financial backers for specific deals
- Speaking with interested financing sources, answering their questions, and securing their interest in supporting acquisitions
- Negotiating term sheets with interested backers
Due Diligence, Closing
- Soliciting service provider quotes and negotiating engagement letters
- Spearheading, overseeing and executing the due diligence process, including accounting Quality of Earnings reports, insurance/benefits reports, environmental Phase 1s, management background checks and extensive legal documentation
- Producing funds flow and other necessary deal analyses
Portfolio Management
- Supporting portfolio companies from the Board level, including debt refinancing, marketing initiatives, budgeting, C-suite interviewing/hiring and adding value whenever/wherever possible
- Attending select portfolio company Board meetings
Marketing
- Networking extensively with deal sources
- Taking business development trips and attending industry conferences
- Maintaining the internal deal log
Miscellaneous
- Serving as "right-hand-man/woman" to the Managing Partner, performing analysis and research and producing materials, as needed
- Maintaining and building our extensive network of operators who wish to become CEOs or Board members of Cambridge portfolio companies
- Regularly updating the internal CRM database with relevant information
